I created Caudalie because I believe in products that are not only effective, but also natural and luxurious. As a result, I am continually refining my formulas and use a maximum of natural ingredients. All parts of the grape and grapevine are used in our skin care formulas as the brand’s patents stem from nature; anti-oxidant rich Polyphenols from grape-seeds, anti-ageing Resveratrol from vine stalks, and anti-dark spot Viniferine from vine sap.
I established my “cosm-ethics” principle in 2005 when I replaced the synthetic preservatives (parabens and phenoxyethanol) with ‘food grade’ preservatives authorized with the Ecocert organic label, in all my products. Now, all of Caudalie’s formulas are developed free of sulfates, artificial colorings, mineral oils, and animal-derived ingredients. Thanks to airless packaging, pump bottles and tubes that preserve the purity and effectiveness of natural active ingredients, Caudalie is able to use fewer preservatives than cosmetics packaged in jars.
I am furthering my cosm’ethics commitment in 2012 by exploring new ingredients and packaging materials and look forward to exciting “green” progress in the year ahead.
